Professional development for the treatment of musculoskeletal pathologies: Well-renowned expertise at the HMR

People with hemophilia who suffer from bleeding disorders affecting the joints have a greatly reduced quality of life.

Because the disease is so rare and the treatment so complex, patients must be cared for by a multidisciplinary team of specialists composed of orthopedic surgeons, hematologists, nurses and physiotherapists. To date, the HMR is the only adult centre in Québec with a team specialized in the treatment of people with hemophilia. Thanks to support from the Foundation, the multidisciplinary team continues to fulfil its mission of training, research and excellence in care to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from coagulation disorders.
