A portable ultrasound machine for the emergency department

Your donations made it possible for the HMR Foundation to fund the purchase of a portable ultrasound device for the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont emergency department.

Costing $80,000, this invaluable tool lets emergency physicians quickly diagnose aneurysms, ectopic pregnancies or complications following an impact or trauma, without having to move the patient or perform an invasive procedure. The portable ultrasound machine is a small computer with sensors. Light and easy to transport, it helps expedite treatment and has become an indispensable tool in today’s emergency medicine. The portable ultrasound machine, already used in the emergency room some twenty times a day, is the diagnostic extension of doctors’ arms, allowing them to quickly glean a great deal of very precise information. And it’s all thanks to you! Thank you so much! Your generosity has helped purchase this cutting-edge tool that will help save thousands of lives!
