Opening of the Centre of Excellence for Cellular Therapy (CECT)
Built at a cost of $20.3 million, the CECT is based on world-class infrastructures, which will enable HMR to position itself as an international leader in cellular therapy.
Also called regenerative medicine, cellular therapy involves replacing damaged cells with fully functional, healthy ones as a means of repairing tissues and organs damaged in accidents, by disease or through aging. This new and continually evolving form of medicine seeks to improve quality of life and provide a cure for countless patients.
The HMR Foundation is proud to have been able to contribute $9 million toward the funding of this major project.
Moreover, the Foundation would like to congratulate all the researchers, doctors and other health professionals who are working to develop cellular therapy, the medicine of tomorrow, here today at HMR.
