Hematology Personnel Development Fund: Fostering excellence

Believing in its importance and faced with the need for exceptional leadership in the field, in 2011, the HMR created an endowment fund to finance the professional development of hematology personnel.

Once again this year, the Fund helped support excellence in the areas of clinical and laboratory hematology through educational activities and grants awarded to residents who wish to pursue complementary specialization. In 2017, the fourth Symposium on Hematology organized by the HMR gathered over 160 medical technologists from all over the province while the lunch and learn sessions welcomed over 200 hematology laboratory professionals. Furthermore, the Fund also contributed to an immunotherapy fellowship for Dr. Caroline Letendre, who will be joining the HMR medical team in the summer of 2018.
