Campagne majeure

Goal : 2 500 000 $

Raised : 28%

This campaign aims to provide the HMR with the resources needed to maintain excellence in care, research and teaching, which are at the heart of the Hospital’s ability to deal with a pandemic such as COVID-19, today and in the years to come.

The Together for the HMR Fund will support the acquisition of state-of-the-art equipment and technology, the training of health care personel and increased screening capacity.

HMR and East Montreal: Telling figures!

Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont is the largest hospital center in Eastern Montreal. It serves1:

  • 26% of Montreal’s population (1 Quebecer in 10)
  • A particularly vulnerable population, comprising many single-parent families, families in a precarious financial situation, etc.
  • A population that is elderly, sedentary, and coping with serious and chronic diseases, such as cancer, hypertension, diabetes, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

The multiplier effect of COVID-19

The great needs of this population put constant pressure on the HMR. With the health crisis, this pressure is even greater. It is no coincidence that the pandemic is hitting the East hard, and that the HMR is one of the institutions treating the most “COVID-19 patients” in Quebec.

Major benefits now

This campaign will:

  • Support the efforts of our medical teams during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Help to ensure the provision of essential services to the most vulnerable people in our community
  • Improve the quality of life and health of the population and reduce their vulnerability

Your donations will fund, among other things:

  • An ultrasound machine for rapid emergency examination in the intensive care unit
  • An emergency simulation room
  • Two simulation dummies: One adult and one pediatric
  • Laboratory equipment to facilitate rapid and accurate screening
  • Intubascopes for difficult intubations
  • Equipment and training for the Pulmonary Rehabilitation Centre staff
When the HMR turns to the Foundation to fund a project, equipment or research, it is because it has run out of options. The Foundation is its last resort.Lucie Drapeau
