Creation of the Together for the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Fund to help the HMR and its teams face the pandemic and the challenges of tomorrow.

2018

Close of the 2013-2018 Major Campaign, which raised $36.5 million, and launch of a new fundraising campaign to support research in cellular therapy.

2017

The “J’appuie Dodo” campaign meets and exceeds its $12 million fundraising goal.

2016

Creation of the Centre for Commercialization of Cancer Immunotherapy (C3i). The HMR Foundation receives a major donation of $15 million from the Centres of Excellence for Commercialization and Research (CECR) program, and close to $35 million from academic and industrial partners.

2014

Donation of $5 million from the Caroline Durand Foundation to support the creation of the Chair in Cellular Therapy for Eye Diseases. – Largest donation in the history of the Foundation!

2014

Launch of the CellCAN Regenerative Medicine and Cell Therapy Network. An initial donation of $400,000 from Ronald and Herbert Black leads to a total of $3 million being raised, including $2 million from the Networks of Centres of Excellence of Canada.

2013

Inauguration of the Centre of Excellence in Cellular Therapy (CECT). The HMR Foundation provides $8 million in financial support for this innovative project, or 40% of the total construction budget, making it the second largest contributor to the CECT.

2012

Creation of the Université de Montréal Myeloma Canada Chair on multiple myeloma at HMR. This $3 million research chair aims to improve patient care by advancing clinical and basic research.

2011

Major donation of $2.5 million from Herbert Black to support the creation of the Centre of Excellence in Cellular Therapy (CECT). – The very first donation of this size!

2011

Launch of the “J’appuie Dodo” campaign, with spokesperson Dominique Michel, to fund the future Integrated Cancer Centre.

2010

Construction of a new floor in the Polyclinique building to house the ophthalmology research laboratories, which will be home to the holder of the Léopoldine A. Wolfe Chair. State-of-the-art research laboratories were also made possible by an exceptional donation from the Antoine-Turmel Foundation.

2008

Creation of the Université de Montréal Léopoldine A. Wolfe Chair on age-related macular degeneration at HMR.

2006

End of the “Grandissons de toutes nos forces” major campaign, which exceeded its goal of $15 million.

2001

François Duffar, president of Groupe Cossette Communication, becomes the spokesperson for a third major campaign: “Grandissons de toutes nos forces”.

1989

Creation of Polyservices Maisonneuve-Rosemont inc., a non-profit organization set up to generate revenue for the HMR Foundation through the rental of offices and parking lots.

1986

Launch of a second major campaign, with Guy Bernier, president of the Fédération des caisses populaires de Montréal et de l’Ouest du Québec, at the helm.

1982

Ronald Corey, President of the Montreal Canadiens hockey club, organizes the first major fundraising campaign.

1978

Creation of then “Fondation hospitalière Maisonneuve-Rosemont.” John H. Sullivan is appointed Chair of the first Board of Directors, comprised mostly of business people. A major event, “Gala Maxim’s de Paris,” held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Montréal, is a tremendous success.
