The 22nd HMR Foundation Golf Tournament: $310,492 Raised for the Integrated Cancer Centre

Meeting on the course of the prestigious Club Laval-sur-le-Lac, under a beautiful sunny sky, some 155 golfers gathered for the 22nd edition of the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) Foundation Golf Tournament. Their generosity helped raise $310,492 during this fundraising event in support of the major HMR Integrated Cancer Centre (ICC) project.

“We wish to offer our most heartfelt thanks to the business leaders, partners and friends of the Foundation who have mobilized on this beautiful day dedicated to improving cancer patient care. We also wish to express our sincere gratitude to the Beauchamp family that has gone above and beyond for this fundraising event over the past three years,” said Lucie Drapeau, Executive Director of the HMR Foundation. “Thanks to their support, we will soon reach our $12 million objective to provide funding for the HMR Integrated Cancer Centre.”

For over 15 years, Normand Beauchamp, a pioneer of Quebec’s radio scene, was a close friend to the HMR and supported state-of-the-art laboratory technology. Mr. Beauchamp died of cancer in 2015. Inspired by his courage and generosity, for the past three years, his family and friends have ensured the success of the golf tournament dedicated to his memory. In three years, they have enabled us to raise an outstanding $789,673 for the future ICC.

The HMR Foundation also wishes to underline the invaluable contribution of the Organizing Committee of the tournament’s 22nd edition. Comprised of co-chairs Xavier Luydlin, Vice President, Operations and Labour Relations, Centre Bell and Mr. Marc Verreault, Vice President, Construction, Pomerleau as well as Danielle L. Caron, Dr. Lambert Busque, Dr. Robert Filion and Claude Van Uytfanck, the Organizing Committee provides invaluable support to the HMR Foundation.

The day was capped off with an exceptional dinner interspersed with a live auction, hosted by none other than illustrious Montréal Canadiens player Yvon Lambert.

Once again, the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation wishes to thank everyone who helped make the event such a success.
