Tribute to Dr. Vincent Pichette for his outstanding commitment

On Wednesday, September 5, 2018, the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) Foundation recognized Dr. Vincent Pichette’s outstanding contribution and commitment to HMR and its Foundation. Colleagues, staff members, family and friends were on hand to pay tribute to this energetic man who has dedicated himself body and soul to his medical practice. Dr. Pichette was clearly overwhelmed by and grateful for the tribute.

In a warm and welcoming atmosphere, many people took to the microphone to cite countless examples of Dr. Pichette’s professional and personal contributions. Lucie Drapeau, Yvan Gendron and Dr. Martine Leblanc, along with Dr. Pichette’s wife and daughters, attested to his qualities as a unifier, a leader and a catalyst for change.

In addition to being the medical officer in charge of predialysis for the HMR Nephrology Department’s research axis, a practicing clinician, full professor at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Medicine, and a researcher with over 100 publications to his name, Dr. Pichette is actively involved with the Foundation. Thanks to his generosity, drive and dedication to the success of the Impact Néphro benefit event, over $3 million has been raised for the HMR Nephrology Department over the past decade.

“Dr. Vincent Pichette, you can be proud of your hard work and dedication to the centre of excellence in nephrology at HMR. Through your actions, you have enabled physicians and researchers to pursue their admirable work benefiting hundreds of patients. Thank you so much! We are truly honoured to have you as one of our most loyal contributors,” said Lucie Drapeau, Executive Director of the HMR Foundation.
