Sonia lives in hope…
Sonia Verdy’s story is rather unusual. A woman in the prime of her life, married and a mother of three and enjoying a beautiful professional career. She was in great health and a model of physical fitness. She was even participating in triathlons.
Everything was great for Sonia and her family. Until the day, in December 2015, when she discovered a tiny lump on her neck. She went to see her doctor, who ordered an ultrasound that proved to be inconclusive so he sent her to the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR). That is when Sonia’s life took a turn that was as unexpected as it was
staggering: “In February 2016, I found out I had cancer of the parotid gland.”
