Montréal Passion Vin: Spotlight on the wine producers of the 19th edition
16 November 2020
On November 21, learn more about the four producers of the exceptional wines that you will taste live at Montréal Passion Vin at home.
For the occasion, the four invited wine houses have prepared a video which will allow you to find out all about the vineyard, the house, its production, and especially the best way to appreciate the wine presented. Below is an overview.
Veuve Clicquot, Didier Mariotti
Didier Mariotti was born into a family of Lausanne vintners in 1971 and developed a passion for winemaking from an early age. He studied in Nancy and graduated from the École nationale supérieure d’agronomie et des industries alimentaires (ENSAIA) in food and beverage engineering. He moved to Reims where he spent several years with Moët & Chandon, working essentially on the storage of reserve wines, the traceability of the wine and the implementation of new IT systems.
After graduating in oenology in 1999, he became deputy cellar master at Nicolas Feuillatte. Then, in 2003, he joined Mumm, where he had several responsibilities, most notably in the creation of new cuvées.
Didier joined Veuve Clicquot in September 2019, thus becoming the eleventh cellar master of the House.
Maison Louis Latour, Louis-Fabrice Latour
Louis-Fabrice Latour, who is the seventh Louis and the eleventh generation of the Latour founding line, took over the management of Maison Louis Latour in 1999. Father of four children, Louis-Fabrice wishes to maintain the family philosophy while integrating modern innovations with the best-established traditions.
President of The Bourgogne Wine Board, member of the Board of Directors and former President of the Fédération des négociants-éleveurs de grande Bourgogne, he is the archetypal passionate and immensely accessible Burgundian.
Antinori, Alessia Antinori
Alessia Antinori, the youngest daughter of Piero Antinori, is currently vice-president of Marchesi Antinori. Since 1996, she has participated in all harvests of the family’s Tignanello estate in Chianti Classico and of Guado al Tasso in Bolgheri.
Naturally drawn to winemaking, she graduated with a degree in Viticulture and Oenology from the Department of Food Science and Technology at the Agrarian University of Milan, in January 1998. In order to understand all aspects of the wine industry, Alessia worked with Antinori’s export and sales teams in India, Asia and New York.
With a keen interest in fine art and photography, Alessia personally oversaw the creation of the museum area and contemporary art installations at the Antinori Winery and supervises the Antinori Art Project, dedicated to all the company’s new projects with a contemporary art focus. She is currently President of the Friends of the National Museum of 21st Century Arts (MAXXI) in Rome and has been a member of the International Council Group of the Museum of Modern Art in New York for the past fifteen years.
Château de Beaucastel, Thomas Perrin
Representing the fifth generation of the Perrin family, Thomas joined the Château de Beaucastel taking responsibility for the marketing of wines for export, after studying business in Paris and doing several internships in the food industry.
He also participates, with his brothers Pierre and Marc and his cousins Mathieu, Charles and César, in the production of wines from the different estates of the Perrin family, including those of Château de Beaucastel. He continues to apply the philosophy of organic viticulture and respect for the “terroir” enacted by his grandfather Jacques in the 1960s.
