The tasting of this new edition of Montreal Passion Vin will be conducted by two great regulars of the event who are well knowned in the wine industry: Véronique Rivest and Nadia Fournier. The 2019 edition will also have the great privilege of having for the first time the famous host Sebastien Benoît who will lead the two tastings with lunch of the event.
Véronique Rivest
Highly respected sommelier on the national and international stages, Véronique Rivest is a seasoned specialist with over 30 years in the hospitality industry as well as having experience as a trainer and consultant. She won the title of Best Sommelier of Canada in 2006 and in 2012, the year in which she was also named Best Sommelier of the Americas. In 2013, she placed second in the World’s Best Sommelier Competition, becoming the first woman in history to ascend the podium of this prestigious competition. In 2014, Véronique opened SOIF Bar à Vin in Gatineau, a place to share and learn around a glass of wine. A speaker and a columnist for several magazines and shows, she is an outstanding communicator who excels in conveying her passion for wine and the culinary arts. In 2017, Véronique became Air Canada’s official Sommelier.
Nadia Fournier
In 2007, Nadia Fournier began her collaboration as a writer of the Guide du vin alongside her mentor Michel Phaneuf. Since 2011, she has single-handedly held the reins of the bestseller, which is celebrating its 39th anniversary this year. She is also a partner and the head wine critic of the Chacun Son Vinwebsite, in addition to contributing to Exquis and L’Actualitémagazines, in which she pens the wine of the week and Goût d’ici columns, dedicated to Québec food and alcohol.
Sébastien Benoît
Sébastien Benoît is a talented host, columnist and reporter. He began his career on Télé-Québec’s show L’été en ville. His vivacious nature and charisma landed him a job on the TQS team. He was a reporter on Flash from 1995 to 2000.
Then, in 2001, Sébastien Benoît was offered a job as a radio host on CKOI. Two years later, Rythme FM gave him the opportunity to entertain listeners during key periods of the day.
All the while, this experienced performer continued to build his TV career. In fact, he took over for Véronique Cloutier at the helm of the very popular La Fureur show. Thanks to him, from 2005 to 2007, the show remained very popular. Sébastien boasts some fifteen television shows including Coups de Food, “a show that enjoys only the best”.
