Chile’s Best Wine!

25A Major Premier! For its 16th edition, the Montréal Passion Vin benefit wishes to stray a bit from the beaten path and present the wine that experts consider to be Chile’s best: Viña Errázuriz!

For the occasion, none other than Eduardo Chadwick, famous for the Berlin Tasting, will be presenting the best vintages from the Errázuriz winery. In 2004, over 1400 wine experts from all over the world took part in the Berlin Tasting experience, which always ends with a blind tasting featuring the most famous wines on the planet: Château Lafite-Rothschild, Château Margaux, Solaia, Sassicaia, etc. On that day, Seña d’Errazuriz ranked among the five best, clearly demonstrating the world-class quality of Chilean wines.

The Errázuriz winery was founded in 1870 by Don Maximiano Errázuriz. He quickly recognized that the Aconcagua Valley, located 100 kilometres north of Santiago, was an ideal place to grow grapes. He had the best vines brought over from France and, with perseverance, he transformed this arid land into a vineyard that is now known for the quality of its wines. Five generations later, today, Eduardo Chadwick upholds the tradition begun by his ancestor Don Maximiano Errázuriz. Involved in the wine business, he supervised the modernization of the historic estate while maintaining the distinct identity of its wines. Dedicated to the production of superior quality estate-grown wines, the winery has built a reputation as the “Best in Chile”.
