On September 21, some 160 golfers took to the fairways of the prestigious Club Laval-sur-le-Lac for the 21st edition of the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) Foundation’s golf tournament. Dedicated to the memory of Normand Beauchamp, the fundraising event helped to raise $265,500 to support HMR’s major Integrated Cancer Centre project.
“We applaud the wonderful generosity of the business people, partners, and friends of the Foundation who came together to improve the quality of care offered to cancer patients,” stated Lucie Drapeau, Executive Director of the HMR Foundation. “With over $8 M raised out of a target $12 M, we’re getting closer to our goal of building an Integrated Cancer Centre for HMR in order to meet the growing needs of the population.”
The HMR Foundation sends out a special thanks to Mr. Beauchamp’s family and friends who, for the second year in a row, gave a remarkable donation of $30,000 to the tournament. Normand Beauchamp, a pillar of Québec radio, succumbed to cancer over a year ago. “For more than 15 years, Normand enjoyed a close relationship with HMR, where he invested in cutting-edge laboratory technology. The funds raised by the Foundation’s golf tournament will go to support the projects that were important to him,” Luc Beauchamp said on behalf of the family.
The 21st edition of the HMR Foundation’s golf tournament also received the generous support of its sponsors, Fiera Capital, Gildan, Nike, and Technosport Canada.
