Marie-Claire Hélie’s Donations, a $60,402 Boost for the ORL Department
29 October 2018
On October 9th, the HMR Foundation took a moment to pay tribute to Marie-Claire Hélie, a woman whose recurrent generosity has benefited the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) for several years.
Between 2011 and 2017, Mrs. Hélie donated a total of $80,000 to the Foundation to support several hospital departments including Oncology, General Surgery and Cardiology. She has been especially dedicated to the development of the ORL Department, to which she made a donation of over $60,000, an outstanding amount that significantly impacts medical staff and patients.
During the recognition event, Drs. Marie-Jo Olivier and Louis Péloquin joined the Foundation to express their deepest gratitude to Mrs. Hélie and to demonstrate the benefits of such acts of generosity. The amount donated to the ORL Department helped meet the critical need to reduce wait times and improve patient management. Through the acquisition of new equipment made possible thanks to this donation, doctors are able to provide appointments sooner and conduct necessary primary examinations for numerous patients, in a more precise way.
Deeply touched by this recognition, Mrs. Hélie expressed her admiration for the work that is done by HMR staff and for their mobilization in support of patient well-being: “Generosity is a small thing when the cause is so powerful!” she said. A model of humility and engagement that is a true inspiration!
On behalf of all HMR patients to whom you offer a better life, thank you!
