Leaving your mark… For life

Imagine that your generosity was carried on after your passing… How? Through a bequest to the HMR Foundation. This is one of the noblest ways of helping our fellow man, and Renée Brunelle understood this very well.

Struck down by myeloma, she made a bequest to the Université de Montréal Myeloma Canada Chair in Multiple Myeloma at the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont. In this way, Mrs. Brunelle’s outreach still supports the promising work done by our researchers to wage and win the war on this type of blood cancer. It was important to this woman who was both strong and sensitive, especially that she dedicated her life to health care.

As a medical technologist, she worked in hematology for 40 years. A deeply unifying woman, she also led a number of different organizations. Her impressive path is also marked by an insatiable curiosity for the sciences, in Quebec as well as abroad.

When Renée Brunelle received her myeloma diagnosis, she never gave up; instead, she took part in experimental treatments. Her sister Marie and her friend Monique say that this lady with the contagious energy “stood before the disease like a fortress”.

Follow Mrs. Brunelle’s example. Your bequest will do more than give hope to those who are ill. It will be added to the contributions from all of our donors to form a powerful chain of generosity, the source of decisive victories against cancer and other diseases. Your action will help save lives!
