Charplus Distribution has generously offered meals to the staff of Maisonneuve-Rosemont and Santa Cabrini hospitals. Dominic D’errico, President of Charplus Distribution, explains his gesture.

Why did you choose the Maisonneuve-Rosemont Hospital?

Dominic D’errico: Our company, Charplus Distribution, is located in the east end of the island. We wanted to offer meals to establishments in our neighbourhood. So, we talked to the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’île-de-Montréal, which chose the two hospitals that would benefit.

What motivated you?

Dominic D’errico: During Covid-19, I decided to offer meals to health care staff to show them that we are thinking of them. I thought that it would also encourage restaurants to do the same. It shows solidarity in the fight against the invisible enemy.

Mary Jo Insogna, my wife, acted as go-between to put my plan into action and I thank her very much. I would also like to thank the Hôpital Maisonneuve Rosemont Foundation and the CIUSSS de l’Est-de-l’île-de-Montréal for facilitating its implementation.

What did you offer?

Dominic D’errico: On Monday, Charplus Distribution distributed about 50 meals. To make sure they appealed to as many people as possible, we chose chicken with a salad and fries. The meals came from two restaurants. Many thanks to Joao Paolo from the Lisboa cafetaria, located on Viau Street, and to José from the Bairrada restaurant, located on Beaubien Street.
