Since the beginning of the current crisis, and the declaration of the health emergency on March 13, Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont (HMR) and its guardian angels have spared no effort to ensure the health and safety of our community. Here’s how.

I support my Hospital and its staff.

Protecting the most vulnerable citizens

HMR serves a large and particularly vulnerable population that is more prone to severe respiratory problems and therefore to COVID-19. The first priority is to protect them. This is why HMR was one of the first to severely restrict access to its facilities and prohibit patient visits. These measures, while unpopular and heartbreaking in human terms, were essential to limit the spread of the virus.

Special attention is also being given to home interventions and visits in order to maintain regular contact with our patients and look after their health.

Protecting our guardian angels

A second priority is to protect the medical personnel and ensure that they work under optimum safety conditions, especially those who are on the front lines in the fight against the pandemic and whose mobilization and commitment are essential.

Preparing for the reception of patients

The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux mandated the HMR to take in patients with COVID-19, which it does today.

To be entrusted with this critical task is a recognition of the expertise of the Hospital and its teams. It is a tribute to the mobilization and dedication of the entire staff in the face of the crisis.

This high level of preparedness and expertise is embodied by professionals such as Dr. Marquis, for example, who answers your questions with great transparency and professionalism every evening.

Your past donations are making the difference today!

It was you, our donors, who funded the purchase of specialized beds for the Intensive Care Unit as well as the continuing education of the HMR teams. It is your contributions that today allow the HMR to have its own diagnostic laboratory. A laboratory, adapted to the current crisis in record time, and which is making a huge difference in terms of patient assessment and management.

Maintaining essential services

Pandemic or not, the population of the East Island of Montreal relies on HMR every day. The most vulnerable people, those with chronic illnesses or who need treatments, such as cancer patients for example, continue to be monitored and cared for. Maintaining these essential services is crucial.

Your support is more vital than ever

HMR’s staff is fully committed to the fight against the pandemic. Its guardian angels are doing their very best and the Foundation supports them, but we need you, your solidarity, your generosity, today to meet the enormous needs, present and future, of the HMR.

Your donations facilitate the work of our guardian angels and have a direct impact on those most affected by the current health crisis, patients!

I support my Hospital and its staff.

On behalf of the staff of the HMR, all patients and their families, thank you for supporting us.

Together, let’s be the seeds of hope and healing!
