Committed HMR employees!

Organized for the past five years by volunteers—researchers and staff at the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Research Centre along with outside partners—the Défi vélo Roulons pour la thérapie cellulaire (“Hit the Road for Cellular Therapy Cycling Challenge”) raises funds to support the team’s innovative projects in a promising field, cellular therapy.
Among other things, the Challenge has provided the team with leverage to obtain major research grants. Since 2012, thanks to the many amateur cyclists who came out for the event, the committee was able to raise a whopping $144,000!
Used for many years to fight blood cancers, cellular therapy is now being applied to develop treatments for a range of visual, nephrological, neurological, cardiac and other disorders. Cellular therapy is providing hope of recovery to thousands of patients in Quebec and beyond. Many patients have already benefited from these groundbreaking treatments. Mai Duong, the committed and inspiring Challenge spokesperson, is one of them. Read her story by clicking here.
On Friday, June 2, 2017, the Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation held an appreciation event to highlight the committee’s remarkable and inspiring work.
