À Votre Santé! And Montréal Passion Vin Raise $2,803,155 Net. The $12 Million Target for the Future HMR Integrated Cancer Centre Has Been Met and Exceeded!

Montreal, November 13, 2017– The Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont Foundation (FHMR) weekend of festivities, encompassing its two flagship fundraising events, the À Votre Santé! evening and Montréal Passion Vin, helped the foundation raise $2,803,155 on November 9, 10 and 11. This amount has enabled the HMR Foundation to exceed its $12 million objective for the J’appuie Dodo Campaign, spearheaded by spokeswoman Dominique Michel. In total, $13,155,560 were raised in support of the future Integrated Cancer Centre, the only integrated centre in Quebec to offer cutting-edge cellular therapy treatment. In recognition of her invaluable support, the HMR Foundation is pleased to name Dominique Michel as its “Ambassadrice de cœur” (Ambassador with a heart of gold).

Montréal Passion Vin – The Largest Wine Tasting Event in the Country

The 16th edition of Montréal Passion Vin, held on November 10 and 11 at the Montréal Cruise Terminal, ended with a bang as the record amount raised as part of the event was announced to the 600 guests in attendance.

“Our gratitude to our partners, volunteers, collaborators and attendees is equalled only by the pride we feel in having met this challenge in as few as six years. I wish to thank our presenting partner, the SAQ, as well as our major donor partner, National Bank, Private Banking 1859, for their invaluable support. Finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteer spokeswoman, Dominique Michel, who held this project high for all to see,” said Ms. Lucie Drapeau, Executive Director, HMR Foundation.

Organized by the HMR Foundation and chaired by Mathieu Duguay, President of Cogir Immobilier, Montréal Passion Vin is recognized as the largest wine tasting event of its kind nationwide and one of the largest fundraising events in Quebec.

“This must-attend event gathered lovers of great wines wishing to share their passion, while supporting projects that generate progress, contributing to the health and well-being of Quebeckers. In the company of seasoned wine producers, they tasted extraordinary vintages from renowned châteaux and estates from France, Italy and Chile. The SAQ wishes to congratulate the organizers and to thank those whose generosity contributed to paving the way for the future HMR Integrated Cancer Centre,” underlined Mr. Alain Brunet, President and CEO of the Société des alcools du Québec.

À Votre Santé! – THE Champagne Event in Montreal, with Dominique Michel and her Guests

Festivities kicked off on Thursday, November 9th, with the À Votre Santé! benefit—Dodo’s big evening—which helped raise $236,429 of the total amount. For the 6th edition of this event, created for and by HMR Foundation spokeswoman Dominique Michel, some 400 guests gathered at the Cruise Terminal along with a number of Dodo’s friends from the entertainment world, including Patrice L’Écuyer, Marc Hervieux, and Lulu Hughes. This year, the very popular Champagne evening presented three highly renowned vintages of Bollinger Champagne.

The HMR Foundation wishes to express its heartfelt thanks to the Organizing Committee and event co-chairs, Ms. Johanne Claveau, Portfolio Manager—Claveau Group, Wealth Management—BMO Nesbitt Burns and Ms. Isabelle Bilodeau, Designer.
