Antoine was not only an accomplished athlete and a model student. He was a kind-hearted and guileless young man.

In 2010, Antoine was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia. He was then s hospitalized and began successful chemotherapy treatments. So much so that he became eligible for a bone marrow transplant, which could increase his chances of long-term remission.

A compatible donor was found in Europe and Antoine received a stem cell transplant in June 2010. In mid-July of the same year, he was finally able to leave the hospital and resume his activities. University, golf, Antoine regained his energy, until he was in remission the following fall.

Unfortunately, in February 2011, he was told that his blood test results were abnormal and that he needed to undergo further tests. His leukemia had returned. Antoine is now receiving investigational treatments that aim to reducee the progression of his leukemia cells, while allowing his bone marrow transplant to take over. These treatments delay the evolution of the leukemia, but do not cure it.

Different treatments followed. Despite unwavering perseverance and all the courage in the world, Antoine left us on July 25, 2012. His will to live was stronger than anything. Antoine will always be a source of inspiration.
