A Fundraiser in Memory of Kevin Ashton

On April 22nd, a celebration of life was held in memory of Kevin Ashton, a young HMR patient, who was treated for leukemia over the course of a year. To honour the memory of their son, Isabelle Sansoucy and Steve Ashton launched a fundraising campaign dedicated to the “Projet Kevin Ashton”.

Thanks to the generosity of their family and friends, they raised $8180 to support young HMR patients who are receiving care for leukemia and experiencing financial hardship. In concrete terms, this amount will help buy grocery store and pharmacy gift cards as well as pay for transportation and parking expenses. In this way, young patients will be able to focus on what is most important: getting better.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we wish to thank the entire HMR Hemato-Oncology team for the extraordinary care that Kevin received during his courageous battle! Thank you also to those who donated to our fundraiser. It is so important that we lend a hand to young adults between 18 and 25 years old because, unfortunately, they are often forgotten.”
