A Record Amount of $2,803,155 Raised by Montréal Passion Vin, The Largest Wine Tasting Event in The Country

The 16th edition of Montréal Passion Vin, held on November 10 and 11 at the Montréal Cruise Terminal, ended with a bang as the record amount raised as part of the event was announced to the 600 guests in attendance: $2,803,155 raised for the future HMR Integrated Cancer Centre.

A not-to-be-missed annual gathering of Quebec oenophiles, Montréal Passion Vin provides the most seasoned wine lovers with a chance to taste exceptional vintages, in the company of the owners and directors of some of the world’s most prestigious châteaux, estates and vineyards. Held over a period of two days, the fundraising activity includes elaborate gourmet meals prepared by renowned chefs who create memorable food and wine pairings.

The 2017 Edition of Montréal Passion Vin was a story of fulfilment!

Organized by the HMR Foundation and chaired by Mr. Mathieu Duguay, President of COGIR Real Estate, Montréal Passion Vin is recognized as the largest wine tasting event of its kind nationwide and one of the most important fundraising events in Quebec.

Fabulous wines, a carefully crafted menu, the Organizing Committee went above and beyond to impress participants. There were several new aspects to the 16th edition. Guests had the pleasure of being the first to discover a new bright and modern space with a breathtaking view of the St. Lawrence, the grandiose Alexandra Pier. For the first time this year, the silent auction was also open to everyone and accessible on line to bid on exceptional bottles. Finally, new seasoned hosts, Paul Arcand and Alain Bélanger, joined Nadia Fournier, Patrice L’Écuyer and Véronique Rivest. An outstanding weekend in every respect!

“Our gratitude to our partners, volunteers, collaborators and attendees is equalled only by the pride we feel in having met this challenge in as few as six years. I wish to thank our presenting partner, the SAQ, as well as our major donor partner, National Bank, Private Banking 1859, for their invaluable support. Finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to our volunteer spokeswoman, Dominique Michel, who held this project high for all to see,” said Ms. Lucie Drapeau, Executive Director, HMR Foundation.
